MS Police Department hosting National Night Out event August 2

The Mineral Springs Police Department will host an event on Tuesday, August 2 from 6 to 8 pm at 425 East Runnels Street in Mineral Springs for National Night Out.

Police Chief Francisco Mercado announced there will be free food, drinks, snow cones, games, bounce houses, cornhole and more. He said everyone will get to tour the department’s vehicles along with the vehicles of the Mineral Springs Fire Department.

Stop by and visit with the officers of the Mineral Springs Police Department and the volunteers of the Mineral Springs Fire Department and Nashville Police Department K-9 officer Apollo and his handler Greg Parker.

Mercado stated National Night Out is a community-policing event that will improve the relationship between residents and the police department, while creating a sense of community. Mercado said he will also address any citizen concerns to help bring his department and the citizens of Mineral Springs together under a positive circumstance.
