MS School District hires new head football coach

Monday night, the members of the Mineral Springs School Board voted to accept the resignation of Samantha Young, Jennifer Ernest and Paul Ernest.

Paul Ernest had been a football coach for two years and was the Dean of Students this past year. Superintendent Billy Lee the district hated to lose a man like Ernest but wished him the best.

The board then accepted the recommendation of Lee to hire Jason Hathcock to be the next head football coach, Dean of Students and Athletic Director. Hathcock was the coach last season at Lafayette County. He has also coached at Barton and Stuttgart. Lee said Hathcock would continue to build on what Ernest started.

The board also hired Taylor Hathcock to be a science teacher and Samantha Humphries to teach 6th grade math.
