Murfreesboro Council Meets In June Session
The Murfreesboro city council has agreed to pay for a pair of upgrades needed at the water department’s new drive through window. After moving into the new city building, it was determined the speaker system needed an upgrade which has already been made. The second repair will be to replace the drawer. A bid for that project has been received and the council is asking that the bid be examined to see if it is reasonable.
During Monday’s June council meeting, Misty Wilson was reappointed to the town’s Advertising and Tourism Board. Laurie Westfall was also appointed to fill the spot of Jane Fugitt. Wilson and Westfall will each serve a four year term on the tourism board.
The council also voted to set the franchise tax for South Central Connect at four and a quarter percent for the new internet provider. The rate is the same charged to all other utilities serving Murfreesboro.
