Murfreesboro Man arrested for residential burglary

On March 9th Officer Chase Kersey of the Murfreesboro police department was dispatched to 709 2nd Avenue in reference to a possible break in. It was reported that Kersey discovered that the residence was not secured. After making contact with the homeowner, Officer Kersey was reportedly shown security surveillance video footage of a white male that was later identified as 39-year-old Raymond Lee Cox of Murfreesboro. 

According to the affidavit, Cox was trying to enter the residence at approximately 10:35pm and as Cox was leaving the residence the footage shows Cox carrying multiple items and a bag on his back. It was reported that while officers were walking the perimeter of the residence a bag that was carried by Cox was found lying on the ground and it contained valuable antique coins and silverware. Cox was arrested and charged with residential burglary and theft of property.
