Murfreesboro Man Arrested on Theft and Drug Charges

A 25-year-old Murfreesboro man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into a reported theft from a camper in Pike County.

According to the affidavit, Deputy Brandon Copeland was dispatched to Castle Repair on August 3 in reference to a reported theft. During the investigation, deputies learned that Jamie Jackson was staying in a camper behind the repair shop.

Jackson was contacted by deputies and, according to the affidavit, consented to a search of his camper pursuant to an active parole search waiver.

During the search, deputies located radio equipment, vehicle stereos, ammunition and other property that was later identified as belonging to the camper. Investigators also located a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

A search of Jackson’s vehicle allegedly turned up a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana.

According to the affidavit, Jackson later spoke with Investigator Jason McDonald and admitted to entering the camper and taking tools to work on his van, but said he returned the tools. Jackson denied stealing firearms and said he was unsure how the other reported stolen property ended up in his camper.

Jackson was arrested and transported to the Pike County Jail for booking without incident.

He is facing charges of breaking or entering, possession of a controlled substance, Class D felony, possession of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanor, and theft by receiving.
