Murfreesboro woman arrested for theft of property
On July 21st at approximately 1:50pm, Murfreesboro Police Chief Randy Lamb responded to the E-Z Mart store in Murfreesboro and took a complaint from the Store Manager in reference to an employee stealing lottery and scratch off tickets.
According to the affidavit, the store manager stated that on July 20th she was informed by EZ Marts Loss Prevention that 19-year-old Melody Bailey of Murfreesboro, an employee at the Murfreesboro EZ Mart store, had stolen $1500 dollars’ worth of scratch off and lottery tickets. The store manager reported that she had viewed the security video from July 13th, 2023, which showed Bailey stealing scratch off tickets.
It was also reported that a recorded interview with Bailey was conducted, and Bailey allegedly admitted to Murfreesboro Police Chief Randy Lamb that she had stolen some lottery tickets. After Chief Lamb viewed a segment of the security video from July 13th, it Showed Bailey taking nine scratch-off tickets and running a credit or debit card to pay for something.
Bailey was arrested and transported to the Pike County Jail and was charged with Theft of Property.
