Nashville Announces Changes In Public Works Schedule
The city of Nashville has announced a change in the work schedule for employees of its Public Works Department.
Starting today, public works director Larry Dunaway says the water office at city hall will be staffed from 8:00 – 2:00 Monday through Friday. If someone needs to pay a water bill after those hours, a dropbox is provided at the drive through window. Bills may also be paid online.
Dunaway says there will also be some delays in the service of picking up leaves, limbs and junk. Any resident who needs this service should continue contacting the water office so a work order can be generated but crews ask for the public’s patience getting the items picked up.
Dunaway stressed that there will be no impacts in the water and sewer services. Those areas will continue to meet the needs of city residents.
Dunaway noted that the staff reduction is being done for the safety of employees, as well as the public, during the COVID-19 threat.
