Nashville Scrapper Baseball Coach guest speaker at Rotary

Wednesday, Nashville baseball coach Zac Stewart was the guest speaker for the Nashville Rotary Club.

Stewart said the team is playing for the district championship today at Wilson Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm and the game can be heard on B 99.5.

This year’s team is young, but they are currently 16 and 5 on the season. The JV team is undefeated at 13 and 0.

The Scrappers go into today’s game with a .450 on base percentage and a .288 batting average. The Scrappers only have two triples and 3 home runs, but they have 46 stolen bases.

Stewart said if the Scrappers win today, they will be the number one seed from the 7-4A conference next week in the regional tournament at De Queen and play at 10 am Thursday, May 4th. If they lose, they will be the three seed and their first game in the regional tournament will be Thursday, May 4′ at 12:30.

The Scrappers will need to win one game in the regional tournament to punch their ticket to the state tournament, the following week in Lonoke.
