Nashville Booster Club Continues Tradition of Supporting Scrapper Athletes

Wednesday, the president of the Nashville Booster Club, Gaye Graham, addressed members of the Nashville Rotary Club.
Graham said she is unsure of the exact date the booster club was founded, but she became familiar with the organization during the tenure of former Scrapper head football coach Billy Laird, when Margie Reed served as booster club president. She said the club’s mission has remained consistent over the years—raising funds to support Nashville Scrapper student-athletes.
Graham told Rotarians the booster club generates funding through several initiatives, including corporate sponsorships and other fundraisers.
Graham explained that school coaches submit requests to the booster club for items such as uniforms, equipment, lodging, and meals. Those requests are then reviewed by a board made up of corporate sponsors, who determine whether the request will be approved and how much funding will be provided.
She added that the booster club also recognizes athletic success by purchasing championship rings for every Nashville team that wins a state title.
The Nashville Booster Club board includes Bryan Chesshir, Nikki Ray, Catherine Reeves, Aaron Tollett, Jason Harrison, Jordon Tollett, Sandra Jones, and Kristen Stavely.
