Nashville Chamber Cancels Stand Up For America
Even though the Nashville Chamber of Commerce has received state approval within the past few days to host the Stand Up For America celebration as planned July 4th at the Nashville city park, chamber executive director Mike Reese said board members decided Tuesday afternoon that it would be in the best interest of the public’s safety to cancel the program due to Covid-19 health concerns.
A final decision regarding another traditional summer Howard County event has yet to be made. The Dierks city council took no action this week on allowing the Dierks Chamber of Commerce to hold the Pine Tree Festival at the city park in August. Council members want to see the chamber’s plans for how to enact the state’s safety guidelines before allowing the festival to take place. The Dierks Chamber is expected to meet next week to discuss this year’s Pine Tree Festival.
