Nashville City Council
Nashville Mayor Billy Ray Jones presented a couple of requests to the city council during the group’s June meeting, held Monday. The Public Works Department is considering the purchase of a new rig that would streamline brush pickup within the city. This truck features a dump bed & extended boom arm that would remove brush, or larger items, such as refrigerators & appliances from property. The mayor said the unit would reduce the required number of employees from three, down to one or possibly two on brush or debris removal trips. The cost of the new unit is more than 155 thousand dollars. Council members did not take action on the purchase, deciding to wait until the city officials can determine a lease figure on the unit.
Council members did approve purchasing a 2021 model 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive truck for the public works department. The new truck will cost $33,866.
