Nashville City Council approves purchase of new fire truck during special called meeting
Thursday, the Nashville City Council held a special called meeting.
The meeting began with the filling of a council seat. Jimmy Dale was sworn in by Mayor Larry Dunaway. Dale will be representing Ward 6, position 2.
Fire Chief Justin Thornton presented a proposal of three fire truck options for the council to consider purchase.
There was a 5 to 4 vote to purchase a 2019 Sutphen Custom Rescue Pumper in the amount of $525,000. A motion was made by Alderman Freddie Horne that before the fire truck deal is completed the council would be advised on the entire financial package associated with the purchase of the fire truck.
Aldermen also approved a motion to pass a resolution concerning the authorized signatures for checks, drafts, and notes of the city of Nashville.
