Nashville City Council Reviews Clean Audit, Passes Key Ordinance and Grant Resolution

The Nashville City Council held their regular monthly meeting yesterday, beginning with the presentation of the annual audit report for the city’s water and sewer fund.
Leslie Winton, representing Wilf Henderson PC of Texarkana, delivered the report and walked council members through the audit findings.
Winton proceeded to break down the fund’s assets and financial status.
She also delivered some good news regarding the fund’s income statement.
Winton concluded by noting the positive outcome of the audit.
In other business, the council approved several motions, including Ordinance 996, which updates existing regulations on non-conforming use of structures. The amended ordinance adds time limitations and penalties for non-compliance. Under the new rule, any non-conforming structure that remains abandoned or unused for six consecutive months must be removed within 30 days after notification from the city code official.
Council members also approved Resolution 2025-09, which designates a non-profit agency as the administrator for the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Mayor Larry Dunaway stated that the city has been approved for a **$500,000, which will be used for improvements at the sewer plant.
