Nashville City Council – Special Called Meeting

Nashville City Council met in a special called meeting Monday evening. Primary purpose of this meeting was to take a vote for the planned solar panel project. During last months regular meeting a vote was taken to proceed with the project, however, after the meeting it was determined that a revote would be needed as a quorum couldn’t be established due to a lack of council members present. Having followed through with the revote with the appropriate number of council members present the plan to proceed with McKinstry industries on the purchase of 15 acres on Old Center Point Road was passed. WIth opposition still present amongst the quorum the mayor did tell council members that at this point into the process there was no legal grounds to stop the project and that the city of Nashville would be out about a million dollars if it was called off. Other than this vote department heads presented a rough draft concerning their proposed budgets for the upcoming year. Nothing concrete was established concerning these budgets as further meetings will be held to discuss this item further.
