Nashville City Council votes to rezone property to an R2

Yesterday aldermen of the Nashville City Council held their regular monthly meeting. 

During the meeting, Mayor Larry Dunaway gave the floor to Brock Yates, who purchased the property at 617 N 4th St. Yates provided a follow-up that was requested by the council.

Dunaway also allowed Phillip Williams a chance to speak who lived across from the property. Williams said that he had a change of heart and is for rezoning the property.

After further discussion, there was a motion made by aldermen Joe Hoen and seconded by Vivian Wright to rezone the property located at 617 N 4th from an R1 to an R2.

Also, during the meeting, aldermen approved a motion to pass an ordinance that was in regard to regulating the mobile vending of ice cream and snow cones within the city limits of Nashville. According to the ordinance, these vendors are required to obtain a permit and it must be displayed at all times. To obtain this permit applicants must submit an application, have a copy of an Arkansas Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, submit a criminal background check along with a permit fee of $50.
