Nashville Junior Scrappers Head Coach Reflects on Player Growth and Community Support

As we continue our conversation with Nashville Junior Scrappers Head Coach John Martin, we take a closer look at the growth of this year’s team and the journey these young athletes have made throughout their time in the program.

After coaching for many years, Martin has had the opportunity to watch numerous players develop and move on to the high school level. He began by reflecting on just how much this group of young men has grown over the years.

Martin then shared a Greek proverb that he often uses as a reminder of the importance of investing in future generations: A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.

Before wrapping up our conversation, Martin also took time to recognize the parents and thank them for the support and help they have provided throughout the season.

As the Junior Scrappers close out an undefeated season as conference champions, Coach Martin says goodbye to another group of young athletes while celebrating the hard work, growth, and support that helped make this season a success.
