Nashville man appears in Pike County Circuit Court on Sexual Assault and Computer Child Pornography

A 43-year-old Nashville man appeared in the Pike County Circuit Court this week and will return October 17 for his pre-trial hearing and is scheduled for trial on November 3rd.

Michael Collier of Nashville has been charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree and computer child pornography.

According to the affidavit, in July of 2021 Chief Wayne Epperly informed Detective Jason McDonald that a man had contacted him about a sexual assault of a juvenile. Detective McDonald met with the juvenile’s mom at the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. The victim’s mom reported Michael Collier was a friend of her boyfriend, Jason Dumas. She said they had allowed Collier to move in with them when he paroled out of prison. The victim’s mom then told

Detective McDonald that she woke up early one morning and discovered her daughter in Colliers bed. Authorities also reviewed text messages describing drug and physical abuse.

Following the interview with the victim’s mom, authorities discovered an outstanding white warrant from Probation and Parole and Collier was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant.

Authorities interviewed the victim and searched her phone where they found incriminating evidence.
