Nashville man arrested and charged with several theft by receiving and other charges
Authorities arrested a Nashville man on December 10 and charged him on December 27 with residential burglary, theft by receiving and possession of a firearm by a certain person.
29-year-old Dontaurus Block was arrested after Howard County Sheriff Deputy Jake Eudy was dispatched to a residence on Chapel Hill Road after a vehicle was reportedly seen at an abandoned house.
When Eudy arrived he discovered a black Mercedes at the house.
Eudy witnessed a black male run out of the woods into the yard. The man was identified as Block. Block allegedly told Eudy that he was looking for some gas. Deputy Eudy noticed the door of the house was open and Block allegedly told Eudy that he was planning to sleep on a mattress inside the house.
When Eudy ran the VIN number of the Mercedes, he discovered it had been reported stolen from Carrollton, Texas. Block allegedly informed Eudy that he had gotten the car from a woman named Ann in Carrollton.
Block was placed under arrest and when asked if he had anything on his person, Block responded by saying ‘maybe.’ Block then allegedly informed Eudy that he had thrown a pistol down behind the house.
Eudy later recovered a Taurus 9mm pistol.
