Nashville man arrested for aggravated assault

A Nashville man has been arrested after officers of the Nashville Police Department responded to a call on June 27th and spoke to the complainant that was physically assaulted by her boyfriend. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Corey Finley. 

According to the affidavit, the complainant stated that around 11:30pm on June 26, she and Finley got into a verbal altercation which turned physical when Finley punched the complainant with his fist several times in the head, causing a knot above her left eye, one to the back of her head, and one on the right side of her face. The complainant reported that she tried to get away, but Finley grabbed her around her neck and choked her until she passed out. 

Officers reported that the complainant appeared to have bruising and whelps on the right side of her neck, and what appeared to be finger marks on her throat along with bruising on the right side of her back and a sprained ankle from the altercation. As reported, Officers made contact with Finley who allegedly admitted to the physical altercation and causing the injuries to the complainant. Finley was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail where he was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member.
