Nashville Man arrested for forgery
Last month, the Pastor of the Dodson Street Church of Christ filed a report with the Nashville Police Department. According to the affidavit, the pastor stated that several checks had been stolen from the Church’s checkbook starting in May and ending in July 2023. The pastor reportedly informed officers that when the checks were returned to the Church’s bank account, they were signed by one of the current church members, 45-year-old Green Morris.
As reported, the pastor provided copies of the forged checks and they totaled to $3,000 dollars. It was also reported that the church elders confronted Morris with the facts, and Morris allegedly admitted to taking the checks out of the church checkbook, filling them out, signing his name to them and cashing them. Morris was arrested and taken to the Howard County Jail and charged with forgery in the second degree.
