Nashville Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Suspicious Behavior

A Nashville man was arrested on July 17 following a suspicious person report that led officers to discover a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
According to the affidavit, Nashville Patrol Officer David Shelby responded to a call about a possibly unconscious male on North 4th Street. Officer Danielle Greenfield also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers identified the individual as 55 year old Dennis Shawn Fox, who was attempting to start a small scooter. Officer Shelby noted that Fox appeared to be sweating heavily and behaving erratically, leading him to believe Fox might be under the influence of narcotics.
It was reported that Fox said he hadn’t used any drugs, but during a sobriety test, Officer Shelby saw signs that he was impaired, including eye movement that suggested drug use.
While returning to his patrol vehicle, Officer Shelby witnessed Fox throw an object to the ground. A piece of foil containing a crystal-like substance was recovered nearby. Officers noted the foil was dry despite the surrounding grass being wet with dew, indicating it had just been discarded.
The substance was believed to be methamphetamine, and Fox was taken into custody and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility.
Fox was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
