Nashville man charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
A Nashville man has been charged with a felony count of possessing drug paraphernalia. 50 year old Charles Jewell was arrested earlier this month during a traffic stop on Highway 27, near the Hempstead County line. Sheriff’s Deputy Trent Coffman said he observed a vehicle with no taillights traveling on the Old Airport road and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, identified as Jewell, Deputy Coffman was given consent to search the vehicle. During that process, the deputy said he recovered a glass smoking pipe within a bandana in the vehicle’s center console. Authorities say the pipe contained a burned residue, believed to be methamphetamine. Jewell was arrested and has been charged with the felony count.
