Nashville man sentenced to 5-years in ADC on drug conviction
A Nashville man was sentenced to five years in prison this week on drug related charges. 42 year old Jalavett Washington was charged with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The charges, filed in December 2018, resulted from a traffic stop made by Nashville Police, who said a vehicle driven by Washington was swerving all over the road. Police that during that traffic stop, suspected marijuana was seen by police on the driver’s side floorboard. Officers say that after placing Washington under arrest, they also discovered a bag in his pants pocket that contained the suspected methamphetamine.
In addition to the five year prison sentence, Washington was also ordered to pay costs and fees. He entered a plea of true to the charges Wednesday in Howard County Circuit Court.
