Nashville man sentenced to ADC
A Nashville man arrested last month during a traffic stop and said to be found in possession of drug paraphernalia has been sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. 50 year old Charles Ray Jewell was sentenced yesterday in Howard County Circuit Court. Jewell was arrested January 9th when deputies conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle near the Hempstead County line on Highway 27 North. Deputies said they found a glass smoking pipe with residue that appeared to be methamphetamine, in the center console of Jewell’s vehicle.
Jewell was given credit for jail time served.
Sentences were also given yesterday in three other court cases. 44 year old Melissa Dawn Carroll, of Ozan, was given 90 days in a community correctional facility, along with a five year probated sentence and fine of 2,000 dollars. Carroll was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-with purpose–meth cocaine and for possessing drug paraphernalia.
33 year old Jeremie Barton of Mineral Springs was given a three year prison sentence and a three year suspended sentence on charges of possessing a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia and Roy Maxey of Umpire, who turns 51 today, was given two years probation and fined 1,000 dollars on charges of breaking or entering, theft of services, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
