Nashville mayor discusses new law that went to effect this year
Yesterday, KMTB and KNAS took a moment to speak with Nashville Mayor Larry Dunaway about the recent Nashville City Council meeting along with the Parks Commission meeting.
In part one of our discussion Dunaway talked about the ordinance that the council passed that was regarding the removal and replacement of persons appointed to the parks and recreation commission.
Dunaway said there are seven members that are on the park commissions board and he named the emeritus members that served on the park commission for 20 years or more.
Dunaway took a moment to discuss the new law that went into effect January 1st, 2024, known as ACT 642 which was an important topic during the parks commission meeting.
ACT 642 is an act to create the coach safely act which requires youth injury mitigation and information courses for athletics personnel and coaches, and for other purposes. The cost for these courses will be an annual fee of $50 dollars.
Tomorrow we will have part 2 of our discussion.
