Nashville Over 15 Inches Of Rain Above Normal in 2019

Last year was above normal in rainfall for the city of Nashville. Official records show nearly 69 and a half inches of rain was recorded which is more than 15 inches above normal. The year was marked by a very wet spring and early summer period followed by drier than normal conditions in late summer and early fall. The months of April, May and July each saw rainfall totals of more than nine inches. The most significant event in last year’s weather was the mid-July flash flooding that caused extensive property damage in several counties. Winter weather was held to a minimum in 2019. Only one accumulating snowfall happened when one inch of snow was recorded on January 23rd. Two other days last year had trace amounts of snow.

As far as temperatures are concerned, the highest reading hit 100 degrees on four days last year, August 13th and 20th and September 7th and 8th. The coldest temperature for last year was recorded at 22 degrees on February 8th.
