Nashville Parks and Recreation budget is approved by city council
Tuesday afternoon, the commissioners of the Nashville Parks and Recreation met for their monthly meeting.
Park Director, Meghan Floyd reported the park was going to finish the fiscal year in the black and she contributed a lot of that success to the park’s sports camps.
Floyd reported the Nashville City Council tabled a resolution that would allow the mayor to appoint a replacement commissioner if a commissioner missed three park commission meetings. She said the commission is made up of 5 commissioners who live within the city limits of Nashville and two who live out-of-town.
Commissioners discussed replacing the fence in front of the park. Floyd said a chain link fence would cost over $9,000, however, a fence with either wood or metal post with metal rebar between them would cost considerably less. She said she had seen pictures of rebar fences that looked really nice.
Floyd also reported the concessions stands would be converting to iPads with Square POS systems and the park budget was approved Monday by the Nashville City Council.
