Nashville Parks and Recreation Commission Discusses Upcoming Registration and Park Improvements at Monthly Meeting
The Nashville Parks and Recreation Commission convened for their regular monthly meeting earlier this week, where key updates on upcoming events and park improvements were shared by Parks and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd.
Director Floyd announced that registration for Baseball 2025 will begin on January 2nd and run through February 3rd. This marks the start of the new season, with families encouraged to sign up early for the best opportunity to secure a spot.
In terms of finances, Floyd reported that the park stayed within budget for the year. The remaining balance in the park’s line item was used to make an improvement to the old softball concession stand, with a tin roof being purchased to cover the existing shingles. Floyd shared that the $7,000 already spent covers both the materials and labor, and the project is scheduled to begin after the holidays.
Additionally, the park purchased a new lawn mower for $9,495 from D&J Equipment, helping to maintain the grounds and ensure they remain in top condition for park-goers.
Before the meeting concluded, the commission discussed the sports draft process for upcoming seasons. The board agreed to finalize their decision during the next meeting, ensuring that an organized and fair system is in place for participants.
The meeting ended with a focus on enhancing park facilities and providing a successful, engaging experience for the community in 2025.
