Nashville Parks and Recreation looking to add two additional tennis courts
Aldermen of the Nashville City Council held their regular monthly meeting yesterday.
Nashville Mayor Larry Dunaway provided an update on the Mount Pleasant bridge project, and he also discussed this project being funded by The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.
Parks and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd stated that she met with a project coordinator from the state. Due to the tennis program growing at the Nashville School District, the district is wanting to build two additional tennis courts and refurbish the two that are already at the park going through a grant with the state. Dunaway discussed talking to Superintendent Doug Graham about why there’s a need for additional tennis courts.
Also, during the meeting, Finance Director Kimberly Green provided the February Revenue and expenditure report. The total revenue was $761,900.54 and total expenditures were $779,087.90. The expenditures exceeded the revenue by $17,187.36. Extraordinary expenses in general miscellaneous expense were $20,000 for Legacy Air Compressor was paid to Casco for the Fire Department. Street capital outlay was $66,452 which was the first payment for the work on Mt. Pleasant bridge paid to Wooster Construction. That amount was transferred to the street fund out of franchise for the same amount. City sales tax decreased by 19% which was $36,037 less than February 2022 and county sales tax decreased 11% which was $12,504 less than February 2022.
There was a motion made by aldermen Freddie Horne and seconded by Nick Davis to approve the financial statement for the month of February.
