Nashville Primary School Kicks Off Food Drive for Great Kindness Challenge

Starting today, Nashville Primary School will be hosting a food drive to support their food pantry in alignment with the Great Kindness Challenge. This initiative, which has become a hallmark of kindness and community service, encourages students to engage in acts of kindness while helping others in need.

KMTB and KNAS had the opportunity to speak with two of the school counselors, Vicki Cook, the 2nd and 3rd grade counselor, and Christy Young, the Kindergarten and 1st grade counselor, about the importance of the Great Kindness Challenge and the food drive.

Young, who has been part of the program since its inception in Nashville, shared that the program started 10 years ago in Nashville and has since grown to include participation from 115 countries worldwide.

Cook also provided details about the food drive, explaining what items can be donated to help stock the food pantry.

Throughout the years, Young reflected on the various donations and charitable acts students have contributed to the community during the Great Kindness Challenge.

Cook expressed how fulfilling it is to work with students on this initiative and watch them grow through their acts of kindness and service.

Young wrapped up by emphasizing the importance of kindness in the school community and the pride the school takes in fostering a positive environment for their students.

The Nashville Primary School food drive is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to give back and demonstrate the true spirit of kindness during the Great Kindness Challenge.
