Nashville Proceeds With Solar Panel Array

The city of Nashville is entering into a long term contract to construct a solar panel array.

The project will cost nearly 2.34 million dollars and has a guaranteed payback in 18 and a quarter years.

The project will include solar panels to be built on a five acre site that’s already owned by the city near the wastewater plant.

The site will lead to savings because SWEPCO will reimburse the city for the electricity generated by the solar panels.

The Texas company who presented the proposal has determined what the savings should be. If the city fails to meet those expectations, the company is required to make up the difference.
