Nashville School Board

The Nashville School Board met Monday evening. In the meeting the board considered the reserve seating at Scrapper Stadium which has, in previous years, been sold to the public at a cost of $50 per seat. Superintendent, Doug Graham, mentioned that the cost of this reservation hasn’t changed since 2007 but felt the time has come for a slight increase. He made this recommendation to the board including that he felt an increase of $10 per seat to $60 would still be inclusive to the community. The board voted 3 for and none against. The board also approved a bid for FreshCoat Painting Services to come in and paint a list of numerous items which included the High School, Primary, Elementary, Junior High, and Football Stadium. This bid was the lower of the 2 presented and passed without contest at a cost of $13,570. Concluding the board discussed change in policies directly related to state legislation for the coming 2021-2022 school year. Most notable of these included the removal of “Covid Days” that were paid by the district to employees that missed work due to COVID-19. This, Graham said, is following suite with both the federal and state governments. Lastly, the board approved therefore adopting changes to the Personnel Policies which is modeled after the Arkansas School Board Association.
