Nashville School Board Adopts Calendar For Next Year

Nashville’s 20-21 school year calendar was approved by the school board this week.

Superintendent Doug Graham said the first day of classes following the summer break will be August 13th.

Next year’s calendar will pretty much follow this year’s with one exception. There will be no school on October 19th which is a day before parent-teacher conferences. Graham said the consensus among district personnel is that the time between Labor Day and the Thanksgiving week break is too long of a period of time for students without a break so the day off (October 19th) was included.

Graduation will be May 16th, 2021 and the final day for students will be May 25th next year.

The calendar also includes five possible A.M.I. days for missed school due to weather, assuming the Arkansas Department of Education allows districts to have days for Alternative Methods for Instruction.
