Nashville School Board Approves 2025–2026 Budget, Staff Raises, and New Hires

The Nashville School District Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting Monday, where board members approved the 2025–2026 school budget and took action on staffing and facility improvements.

Highlights of the newly approved budget include a $2 per hour raise for classified staff and an increase in pay for school nurses to $30 per hour. The budget also designates $1.2 million for maintenance, $422,000 for the purchase of a new school bus, $110,000 for Board of Education operations, and $77,000 for renovations to the Old High School Gym lobby.

In addition to approving the budget, the board passed a motion to transfer $1.5 million from Fund 2001 to the building fund, approved the PPC model policies from the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA), and signed off on the retired fixed asset list.

Personnel matters were also addressed. The board accepted the resignations of Macy Brecheisen for 6th Grade Science and Amber Perez as ESL Aide, and approved the hiring of Mark Higgins as bus driver and Cristal Perez as High School Secretary, effective July 14, 2025, as well as Shanna Berruquin as Special Ed Para and Kaylynn Sharp 6th Grade Science.
