Nashville School Board Approves Key Projects and Financial Adjustments
Nashville School Board story Wednesday Monday night, the Nashville School Board met during their regular monthly meeting.
Superintendent Doug Graham recommended an agreement between the Nashville School District and Howard Memorial Hospital to provide athletic trainer and/or physical therapy services.
Graham said the district was renovating the ‘cafe’ space into a physical therapy facility where student athletes could receive treatment without leaving campus. He said HMH would bill the district $40 per hour for services rendered.
Graham reported the state department of education had informed the district that it needed to transfer an additional $322,093 from the district’s operation fund to the district’s building fund to remain in compliance with the law that allows district’s to only carryover 20 percent of it’s budget from the year before. The board approved the transfer and the building fund now has a balance of about $4.6 million.
Board members accepted a bid from Tri State Asphalt for the parking lot projects on the Primary and High School campuses. The total cost will be $58,222. The board also accepted a bid from Double J Excavation for the Rip-Rap project at Scrapper Stadium in the amount of $77,693.
Board members approved Graham’s recommendation to sell a 1-acre tract of land that the district owns on Polk Meeting House Road. Graham said the district will accept sealed bids until noon on Friday, August 30th.
Board members also voted to hire Matha Lewis as the Junior High ELS paraprofessional.
