Nashville School Board Approves Personnel Changes, Summer Contracts During Monthly Meeting

The Nashville School Board met Monday evening for its regular monthly meeting, approving several personnel changes and district-related contracts.

Among the personnel actions approved by the board were the resignations of NHS Band Director Jacob Happy, Justene Seavers as Special Education Para, Holly Couch, who will transition to part-time status, and Head Junior High Girls’ Basketball Coach Megan Scrivner.

Board members also approved several staff changes and hires. Sarah Horn was approved to take over as Dyslexia Coordinator, while Tessa Dean was approved to serve as ESL Coordinator, assuming duties previously handled by Couch.

Additional hires approved during the meeting included Ivy Martin as Dyslexia Para, Lorena Slayton as Special Education teacher at the elementary campus, Ashley Walston as a sixth-grade teacher, and Gaye Graham as a bus driver.

In other business, the board approved student activity insurance and the employment of summer school teachers for the upcoming session.

Board members also approved the Assurances and GEPA report presented by Assistant Superintendent Tate Gordon.

Additional approvals included a pest control contract with Lawrence Termite and Pest Control in the amount of nearly $11,000, building improvement plans for all four campuses within the district, and the district’s FSMC contract.
