Nashville School Board Approves Staff Hires and Virtual Academy Plan

The Nashville School Board held their regular monthly meeting Monday, where members approved several personnel changes and heard an update on the district’s virtual learning program.
The board approved the hiring of Lacy Britt as Virtual Academy Coordinator, Kim Perez as girls soccer coach, Emily Robinson as an ESL paraprofessional, and Jeremiah Burnett as primary custodian. Board member Nick Britt recused himself from the vote involving Lacy Britt due to a conflict of interest.
The board also voted 5-0 to approve the termination of Shy Swift as primary custodian and the resignation of Dontrelle Robinson as special education paraprofessional and coach.
Superintendent Doug Graham then presented the Scrapper Virtual Plan for the 2026-2027 school year. The program is designed to provide Nashville students with a flexible, high-quality learning option while allowing them to remain connected to the district.
Graham also noted that students enrolled in the virtual program will remain eligible to participate in extracurricular sports and other programs offered by the school.
Graham said the virtual program is designed to help the district adjust to the individual needs of its students and provide another educational option for Nashville families.
Graham also discussed the application process for students interested in enrolling in the virtual program.
He provided additional information for parents and students who are interested in signing up, including an email address they can use to ask questions and receive information about the program.
