Nashville School Board Discusses Safety, Student Activity Passes, and Enrollment Updates

The Nashville School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, covering a range of items related to district operations, student support, and upcoming events.

Among the motions approved by the board was a resolution allowing Superintendent Doug Graham to continue serving on the DMEC Board of Directors. The board also approved a $200 stipend per Certified School Security Officer (CSSO) to help offset the cost of ammunition used in training and preparedness. In addition, the board considered student activity passes that would cost $20 per student. The passes would allow students to attend sporting events throughout the school year.

Superintendent Graham also announced that upcoming school board training sessions will be held on October 7 and November 4 at the district’s administration building. Each session will last three hours.

Building principals from each of the district’s four schools also shared reports, including current enrollment numbers:

  • Nashville Primary School (NPS) – 515 students
  • Nashville Elementary School (NES) – 407 students
  • Nashville Junior High School (NJHS) – 386 students
  • Nashville High School (NHS) – 417 students

Principals emphasized their ongoing commitment to providing a safe, healthy learning environment and a world-class education that prepares students for success in society. They also discussed campus improvements, enhanced parental involvement, use of social media for communication, and updates to the district curriculum.
