Nashville School Board – Mask Mandate

When the school year begins Monday, the Nashville School District will be operating under a mask mandate.  In a special meeting Thursday afternoon, the board approved the mandate that applies to all indoor areas for students, district employees & visitors.  Superintendent Doug Graham says the mandate will be re-evaluated after a thirty day period.

By implementing the mandate, Superintendent Graham said the goal is to keep the students in the classroom & out of quarantine:

As of yesterday, there are 35 students in the district who would miss the start of school due to having the virus or because of close contact.  Howard Memorial Hospital C.E.O. Debra Wright & Mayor Billy Ray Jones spoke at Thursday’s board meeting, encouraging the board to take appropriate action when it comes to student safety.
