Nashville School Board Meeting Highlights Annual Reports from Junior High and High School Principals
During the Nashville School Board’s regular monthly meeting on Monday night, building principals presented their annual reports. Today we will be highlighting on key initiatives and faculty updates for Nashville Junior High School (NJHS) and Nashville High School (NHS).
NJHS Principal Hannah Toper introduced this year’s theme: “TEAM,” which stands for “Together Everyone Achieves More.” She reported that NJHS is staffed by 47 members, including 35 certified teachers, 12 classified staff, 2 with national board certification, 23 with master’s degrees, and 5 ESL endorsed educators.
Toper emphasized that the safety of students and staff is their top priority.
Additionally, Toper outlined the continued use of their 40-minute intervention schedule designed to help close learning gaps while providing enrichment opportunities for students.
Following Toper, NHS Principal Ashley Riggs shared updates about the high school, which currently employs 48 staff members. Out of the 48, 40 are certified teachers, 8 classified staff, 25 with master’s degrees, 3 national board certified, and 4 with ESL endorsements.
Riggs discussed NHS’s action plan and the importance of preparing students for their future.
Riggs also announced several important upcoming dates for students: a college fair in Lockesburg on October 22nd, ASVAB testing on October 29th, a setup day for the Arkansas Challenge Account for seniors on October 30th, and a college fair at the NHS Library on November 6th.
