Nashville School District classified personnel receive 3% raise

Classified personnel within the Nashville School District are receiving a three percent pay increase.  Approved by the board Monday, the increase is designed to keep the district competitive in pay, according to Superintendent Doug Graham.  The increase will also apply to bus drivers.  Total cost to the district is expected to be just over $61,000.

In addition to that increase, all personnel will also be receiving a retention and recruitment bonus for the 22/23 school year.  The bonus is expected to be available for district personnel no later than June 30th.  Because its for the upcoming school year, any person who resigns their position after receiving the bonus, will be required to refund the $500 to the school district.  The bonus will come from funds received by the district for the American Rescue Plan, which is federal money given to school districts and other entities during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The local school district has received over $5 million dollars in Covid money.
