Nashville School District Re-employs Athletic Director and Principals

Board members of the Nashville School District held their regular monthly meeting last week.

Superintendent Doug Graham made a recommendation to the board to re-employ James Bunch Nichols as Transportation Maintenance Director and Athletic Director, Tate Gordon as Assistant Superintendent, Ashley Riggs as High School Principal, Krysta Parker as Junior High Principal, Nathan Evans as Primary Principal, and Kim Slayton as Curriculum Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year. There was a motion made to accept Graham’s recommendation and reemploy those as presented. All were in favor of the recommendation.

Graham even recommended to the board on changing the name of the Scrapper Athletic Hall of Fame to Scrapper Hall of Fame. This would give voters a chance to have a variety to choose from as far as the nominating process. There was a motion made to approve the Scrapper Hall of Fame Bylaws as written. All were in favor of Graham’s recommendation. Graham talked about how he felt about starting the Scrapper Hall of Fame.

Graham said quote “The primary purpose of the Scrapper of Fame is to establish a hall of fame to honor and to preserve the history of those through academics, merit, athletic achievements, accomplishments and contributions that brought honor and prestige to Nashville High School.”
