Nashville School District’s positivity rate 2 percent; absentee rate 7 percent

The Covid-19 positivity rate within the Nashville School District remains at two percent, according to numbers sent out by district officials Thursday. The latest figures within the local school system had 6 teachers testing positive & two others out, due to close contact. Among the student population, there are 38 students out with COVID-19 another 108 who were listed as close contact.
While the district’s positivity rate remains at two percent, the absenteeism rate was 7 percent.
At this week’s January school board meeting, the board opted to not implement a mask mandate at this time, but authorized Superintendent Doug Graham to issue a mandate for mask wearing when the positivity rate reaches five percent.
