Nashville Scrapper Band Gears Up for May Concerts, Eyes New Uniforms

The Nashville Scrapper Band is closing out the school year on a high note with upcoming performances and big plans for the future. KMTB and KNAS recently spoke with Nashville High School Band Director Jacob Happy, Band Booster President Scott Horne, and NHS juniors Klaire Hendry, Dalton Manlove, and Raymiah Alvarez about what’s happening in the program.

Director Jacob Happy shared an update on what the band has been working on this semester and announced a series of concerts scheduled for May.

Raymiah Alvarez, a percussionist in the band, talked about what being part of the Scrapper Band means to her and why she loves playing music.

Dalton Manlove, who serves as a brass leader and plays both trombone and baritone, offered his perspective on his leadership role and musical journey.

Fellow junior Klaire Hendry also shared what her experience has been like as a member of the Nashville Band.

Band Booster President Scott Horne, who took on the role in July 2024, discussed current fundraising efforts, including the organization’s goal to purchase new uniforms for the band.

As the school year winds down, the Nashville Scrapper Band is preparing to showcase its talent while also building for the future — with the continued support of students, staff, and the local community.
