Nashville Scrappers Cruise to 42-3 Victory Over Harmony Grove
The Nashville Scrappers improved to 5 and 3 on the season and 4 and 1 in the 7-4A conference with a 42 to 3 victory over the Harmony Grove Cardinals.
Friday night, Harmony Grove did exactly what they wanted to do in the first quarter. They maintained possession of the ball and did not allow the Scrapper offense an opportunity to score.
However, in the second quarter, the Cardinals took a 3 to nothing lead with 6 minutes to play in the half. Nashville would respond by scoring on a touchdown pass from Karson Chambers to Kason Morgan after missing the point after attempt, Nashville led 6 to 3. Nashville would then score on the following kickoff when Harmony Grove allowed Nashville to recover the football in the end zone. Nashville’s 2-point conversion failed and the Scrappers took a 12 to 3 lead into the locker room at the half.
Nashville picked up where they left off in the third quarter. Chambers scored on a touchdown run to put Nashville up 18 to 3. Nashville would score again on a pass from Chambers to Morgan and Khaleel Canady would recover a Cardinal fumble and score Nashville’s third touchdown of the quarter.
The Scrappers would recover the ensuing on-side kick and score on a touchdown pass from Chambers to Tucker Dixon to give the Scrappers a 36 to 3 lead after three quarters of play.
In the fourth quarter, Nashville would score one more time with 8:44 to play in the game when DJ Jefferson caught a touchdown pass from Chambers to give the Scrappers a 42 to 3 win.
This week, Nashville hosts Malvern and it’s Senior Night at Scrapper Stadium.
Malvern is 5 and 0 in conference play and tied with Arkadelphia for first place. Malvern and Arkadelphia will play Friday, November 8th. And, Nashville will end the regular season on the road at Genoa Central.
