Nashville Scrappers Head Coach Aaron Worthen Talks Tournament Success and Upcoming Challenges

Yesterday, we sat down with Nashville Scrappers Head Basketball Coach Aaron Worthen to discuss the team’s impressive performance in the Southwest Arkansas Invitational held in Mineral Springs. The tournament, which kicked off on December 28th, wrapped up with the championship game on January 4th.

Coach Aaron Worthen, who has 14 years of coaching experience, began his career at Wickes before moving on to Ashdown. This year marks his fifth season as head coach of the Nashville Scrappers. Worthen reflected on the team’s strong performance in the tournament, which included decisive victories over the Horatio Lions (63-19), the Kirby Trojans (80-45), and the Murfreesboro Rattlers (79-64).

Coach Worthen also highlighted some key players who stood out during the tournament.

When asked about the team’s overall approach, Worthen explained the strategy they use to remain successful on the court and mentioned additional players who are essential to the Scrappers’ success.

Looking ahead, Worthen gave a rundown of the season so far, including his thoughts on upcoming challenges. He pointed out Little Rock Mills as a team to watch out for, noting the Comets will be a tough opponent.

The Nashville Scrappers will hit the road today to face off against the Little Rock Mills Comets. The Scrapperettes will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the Varsity boys’ game. B99.5 will have the live coverage.
