Nashville Scrappers Improve to 7-0 with 35-14 Win Over Ashdown

The Nashville Scrappers remained undefeated Friday night, defeating the Ashdown Panthers 35-14 to improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in 7-4A Conference play.
Nashville struck first when Bryce Perrin scored on a 5-yard touchdown run. However, a bad snap resulted in a failed extra-point attempt, leaving the Scrappers with a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Ashdown answered in the second quarter after recovering a Nashville fumble. The Panthers capitalized with a 47-yard touchdown pass from Shooter Johnson to Chris French, taking a 7-6 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw Nashville lose its second fumble of the night, but the Scrapper defense came up with a big play. A snap sailed over the punter’s head on an Ashdown punt attempt, resulting in a safety and giving Nashville an 8-7 lead.
From there, the Scrapper offense found its rhythm.
DJ Jefferson connected with Jacoby Hopson for a touchdown to extend Nashville’s lead to 14-7. Moments later, sophomore Bo Dean intercepted an Ashdown pass and returned it for a touchdown, pushing the Scrappers ahead 21-7.
Nashville continued to build its advantage in the fourth quarter. Trendon Northcross intercepted another Panthers pass, setting the stage for Jefferson to scramble 32 yards for a touchdown approximately three minutes later. The score extended the Scrappers’ lead to 28-7.
Just over a minute later, Hopson found the end zone again, this time on a 5-yard touchdown run, putting Nashville ahead 35-7. Ashdown added a late touchdown, but the Scrappers secured the 35-14 victory.
With the win, Nashville maintains its perfect record and continues its strong start to the season.
