Nashville sweeps Ashdown in 7-4A action
Friday night, the Nashville Scrappers and Scrapperettes hosted the Ashdown Panthers and Lady Panthers at Scrapper Arena.
The Scrapperettes improved to 11 and 4 overall and 2 and 0 in conference play with a 47 to 22 victory.
Nashville took an early 22 to 9 lead in the game and held the Lady Panthers scoreless in the 2nd period to take a 40 to 9 lead into the locker room. The sportsmanship rule went into effect for the second half. Nashville scored 7 points in the second half but held off the Lady Panthers for the win.
Ashdown falls to 3 and 4 on the season and 1 and 1 in conference play. Nashville is currently in first place in the 7-4A conference.
The Nashville boys improved to 6 and 2 overall and 1 and 1 in conference play following a 61 to 28 victory over the Ashdown Panthers who fall to 0 and 6 overall and 0 and 2 in the conference.
Ashdown led early 12 to 8 but the Scrappers held the Panthers scoreless in the second period to take a 31 to 12 lead at the half. Nashville scored 30 points in the second half while holding the Panthers to just 16 points.
The Scrappers are currently in third place in the 7-4A conference.
Nashville will be on the road Tuesday at Malvern and at De Queen Friday. All games will be broadcast on B 99.5.
Friday night, Dierks stepped out of conference play and traveled to Hot Springs County to play the Cutter-Morning Star Eagles and Lady Eagles.
The Lady Outlaws battled hard but came up short against the Lady Eagles. The final score was 44 to 41.
The Lady Outlaws are 5 and 8 overall and 1 and 3 in conference. They are currently in sixth place in the 7-2A conference.
The Outlaws lost 52-44 to the Eagles who are highly ranked in the state. Cutter-Morning Star is 17 and 1 overall and 6 and 1 in their conference. Dierks is leading the 7-2A conference with a record of 9 and 6 overall and 4 and 0 in the conference.
Dierks has three games this week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The senior high games will be broadcast on 105.5 the Maverick.
