Nashville Trap Secures Entry to State Championship
The Nashville Scrappers Trap team have successfully shot their way into the state championship coming up on June 4th and 5th. The Junior division put distance between themselves and second place by a number of 13. Scrapper Junior 1’s Carter Ewing shot a perfect round of thrown clays with Katherine Chambers and Walker Chessir shooting 24 of 25. Logan Pennington scored 23 and Casen Hunter finished with 22 to further the teams dominance in the competition with a combined score of 118 of 125 possible. Carter Ewing will continue on to compete in the Champion of Champions competition at the state level for his perfect score of 25. The senior division also performed well taking the title of Senior Regional Champs with a score of 231. Top shooters for the Senior division from Nashville were Wren Washburn who led the Senior 1 team with a score of 49, Gabriel Hagler right behind with 48, and Alayna Cook of Senior 2 also with 48. All 3 of the senior squads qualified for the state competition coming up on June 5th. Congrats to these young men and women for their accomplishments and good luck in the coming state competition!
