National Night Out huge success in Mineral Springs

Monday night, Mineral Springs Fire Chief Chris Hostetler reported the department responded to nine calls. He said they responded to four first responder calls, three smoke alarms and two grass fires.

Members of the fire department also attended the National Night Out event on August 2nd.

Police Chief Francisco Mercado reported the National Night Out event was a huge success.

Mercado also reported the police department wrote three criminal citations. One was for public intoxication. One was for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one for domestic battery in the third degree.

He said officers made three misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest.

A resident of Mineral Springs presented the council with a petition containing 21 signatures of Mineral Springs residents to live stream the city council meetings on Facebook. Council members, however voted to not live stream their proceedings.
